Schematic diagram of the proposed role of LNCAROD in HCC and its mechanism. Mettl3- and IGF2BP1-mediated m6A methylation stabilizes and upregulates LNCAROD. LNCAROD exerts oncogenic effect in HCC by interacting with SRSF3 to induce PKM switching towards PKM2 in the nucleus and by acting as a ceRNA for miR-145-5p to upregulate PKM2 in the cytoplasm, thus contributing to enhanced glycolysis and the subsequent HCC progression and chemoresistance, especially under hypoxic microenvironment
